RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

My XTM has been in storage since I got the Associated MGT. But I may pull it out for another drive on any given day. [8D]

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

If the acceleration is bad only with tires that big, it's probably because of those tires. If I ever get Masher 2000's for my XC, I'll let you know how the acceleration is. I have a set of Dirt Hawgs...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

I have that site bookmarked and will read it. Thanks for the link. I have the new battery carrier and ordered a failsafe. I'm gonna run this thing some more but now I reeeeeally want an Associated...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

I think you have the cartwheels mixed up. It's my car that did cartwheels, not theskyisfalling. As for my battery holder, I don't think the cartwheels broke it because I changed the batteries once...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

I've had to replace a few plastic parts but I find it alright since I'm new to nitro RC and have had a few tumbles(like the car doing cartwheels in the dirt). Still, I've heard good and bad about the...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Would the rechargeable pack completely replace the battery holder thing, the one with the crack on it?

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Now the throttle and steering control is failing on and off with my X-Cellerator. The batteries are new. Sometimes it comes back when I turn the switch on the car off, then on again. Sometimes it...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Ok cool, I'll make sure that's the case with the temperature. Still, I'll be checking it just incase with my temperature reader.

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

True I have to take the body off just to use the pull start. I should be able to do a few tanks or more in one go before I should shut it off and let it cool down.

Which is what the zip tie and fuel hole in the body will be for. [8D]

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Cool, I just wanted to be sure. I wasn't sure if the truck makes some kind of air travel or vacuum in the fuel tank that may be interrupted if I opened it while running.

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Has anyone gone through more than 5 gallons of fuel with their stock XTM engine? One hobby store guy said that after 5 gallons is around the time to replace an engine because of the piston warping or...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Same here, the employee at Hobby People was pushing the XTM X. But it was okay because they were right, the XTM X is great and I'm glad I got it. Almost every time I go there, I see one being...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

I don't hate Traxxas. I woulda got a Nitro Sport to start with as my first nitro RC. But the store didn't have it, but had the XTM, so I got it. I'm happy with it. It goes faster than I thought but I...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Gotcha. I'll relocate the car from the cold garage to the cozy atmosphere in my room when it's not in use. [8D]

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Yep, the beans work. But now I know why I get hungry when working on my car. If the temp gets around 280, I can stop the car right away and put a mini camping pan on the engine head and cook the...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

That's cool. I'm on three sets of wheels so far, the stock tires it came with, Pro-Line Road Rage tires, and Pro-Line Dirt Hawgs. Mashers I'll probably get eventually. I'd like to get them for my...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Good idea on the balloon thing. I may do that, although I just avoid water altogether.

Let's see if I can get some pictures working.

First one is the work table in the garage. My dad...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

I don't jump a whole lot. If I do, I usually mess around with the Stampede. I like to control vehicles through dirty terrain and have them climb up hills, either slowly or steep ones by catching some...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

That's exactly what's happening! The shocks take longer to contract and expand, compared to the ones on my Stampede. I may get a whole new set with the oil setting you recomend, and switch the sets...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Oh hey I forgot to mention that the store manager put a zip tie on the air filter to tighten its hold on the engine. That way it can be pulled off and pushed back on, and will stay on better. Good to...

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!

Hi everyone,

Long story short, I became aware of how big and serious the RC hobby is not long ago. I got an electric Stampede on November 29 of last year and it's still going strong. I love...
