RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

The Book says 5/8" up and down on low rate and 7/8" up and down on high rate. That's where I set them.

And the 7/8" is still not enough in a pinch, like landing and flaring

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

On my Futaba 8U transmitter, I thinkit wound up with about 6% or so. You gotta experiment to get it where you want it

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

For me, the recommended CGis fine.

I did mix in some down elevator to flaps and thatwas absolutely necessary.

You may also want to increase the recommended elevator THROW. 5/8" up and down...

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

The only difference is my 190 has 3 batteries, 2 five cell 2200 maH for receiver and ignition and another 6 cell for the electric retracts.

All are mounted as close to the firewall as possible,...

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

Great idea but the 8FGtransnitter I used doesn't have the servo speed control.

The person who Ibuilt the 190 for has one of those new super-duper Futaba 57FG (something like that anyway)...

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

If you're talking about the main gear, the wheel axles are well ahead of the wing leading edge. I believe it's either flap blanking or adding more elevator throw.

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

We made 2 more test flights yesterday. First one was perfect, second one not so much. It nosed over once again, crushing the top of the fin. Easy fix but still there may be a problem.

I think the...

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

You get plastic hubbed hard foam wheels in the box. Vogelsang Aeroscale has some nice scale wheels but you're gonna have to loosen your purse strings for them.

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

Remove the choke plate and then take out the ball and spring, or just cut a turn off the spring. This will put less strain on the choke servo.

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

Nope. You can cycle the main gears and stop one with your hand at any point in the cycle and it will sense an increase in current.

It will then stop and stay tat that position, drawing zero...

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

The control board monitors the current drawn by the actuator and when it gets to a "stopping point, it shuts off the actuator.

You can put a mechanical stop to have the tail wheel only retract as...

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

Just a heads up about the removable top hatch. The plastic sheeting on it is VERY fragile and any rough handling, like trying to remove the hatch by pulling on the sides rather than in the center,...

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

When the gear is extended it gets a little nose heavy, which is a good thing on...

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF

The cup hook will keep the spark plug wire from hitting the muffler. The yellow hose is the tank vent tube and will go out the bottom of the cowl away from the muffler too.

First...
