I made sails, once, for my Vic, out of ripstop...that's difficult. I think I'd use drafting mylar or something...........

my 2 cents...but, then, the nylon sails were still better than the stock...

On a pretty regular basis, something called 'colored' Fairwind sails show up on Ebay, and they're pretty inexpensive. Failing that, www.amya.org has a suppliers' page.
