RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

That makes sense, somehow I was thinking in terms of water line instead of hull angle in relation to the water. I ask because I will be using a different turn fin and was frist contemplating the idea...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What would happen if I straightened out the turn fins from it's angled mount position?

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

hollyx88 - Unlike in brushed motors where the timing is set in the motor - BL motors timing is set by the esc. This makes them move efficiently in both directions. Just remember to get a flexshaft...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

It is actually fairly easy to fix the stringer alignment. In fact, you can even take the whole thing out and fabricate a much sturdier one. My friend wrecked his boat in a freak accident - they...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

stealth - was that a new boat? You should just have returned it for replacement.

moster - the hulls are available at tower as well. But if build it yourself, you will most likely fork out more...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

banana - seriously, you want one? It will be cheaper for you to just get it off Offshore. But I'll come up with some numbers for you just for the heck of it. Oh yes, you can get them in custom sizes!...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

monsterbrad - dicko is right. We used to run our boats on Sub C's and they just can't cut it. The low C rating can't supply the amp hungry motor. We get burning hot cells after each run. And the more...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

arron - looks like you burned your motor. Send it in if it's still in warranty. I used to have temps of 140F and was not comfortable with it. We had somebody here whip us up special cooling jackets...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

joeysan - When my boat had problems making left turns at speed, I found the culprit to be the stock AQ steering servo. Even Tx adjustments didn't cure it. Ended up replacing it with an ordinary...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

holly - you stated that your boat turns to the left no problem when on plane . . . then I don't see anything wrong with the servo or the steering. I don't think any stock SV can do a tight turn (left...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

holly - if that epoxy you have dries stiff, then that's good enough. Yes, you don't even have to paint it. Just put the fin back on and you're okay. I would prefer acrylic paints but you can probably...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

djmike - for me, it helps in straight line stability. others beg to differ. Does it slow down the SV, maybe a litlle, I haven't noticed it. Does it help in the turns, I think so.

jake - get the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

You have a electric boat right? Never saw anyone do that on the SV hull. The idea is to keep the boat watertight. Maybe he used that hole as water drain (if he had a nitro SV). But if he did a good...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

jake - the stock SV esc is rated to 18volts. It is configured to use 2 x 2S packs in series. Also, be aware that it does not have a LV cutoff. If it starts getting sluggish, bring it in and check...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

holly - You have to be specific about the hole location. Is that plugged hole on the left side (port) or the right side (starboard)? The SV comes with a starboard turn fin. The port turn fin is...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I used a CF45 as well and it made the boat jump from takeoff, no cavitation. But the boat was rocking left/right. What do you call this - porpoising? And what is chine walk? Anyways, I will try and...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27
