RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Lump, for better brake power, replace the brake spring with fuel tubing of the same length. The spring just doesnt put enough power on the brake lever. Fuel tube in its' place will help alot!

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

OH, by rebuilt I meant I took it apart and cleaned it all up. The engine was still in fine shape, just needed to remove the water. Im not sure what it cost to rebuild a 8.0 engine. I assume you...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

The FT bodies are basically for looks, as they don''t increase performance. The FT caps are a must if you want to jump big airs. I only have FT caps on the rear, since I never blow caps on the...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

+1, loc-tite is a MUST. But the surfaces must be clean for it to work properly. Before I apply it, I spray the screw and cup with brake cleaner to for a nice clean, oil free surface, then apply a...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Damn man, that's some crazy stuff. Why did it take off? when setting up brakes, make sure the brake pads are tight enough to the brake rotor, enough to fit about 3 normal pieces of paper between...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

MGT brakes definitely have enough power to flip the truck end over end when set up right. There is definitely a fine tuned set up in braking power that gets over looked IMO. I set up brakes heavy...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

That happened to me last summer going wot about 35 MPH. Heard a loud crack and my truck popped up in the air and then grinded hard. Turns out the CVA pin came loose, got caught by the chassis...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Hey I'm getting along just fine. I'm not the long winded one that has to go out of his way to insult and get at some one. But whatever, It's all good. My wimpy .28 Monster GT owns. Does tricks...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

no girly man here, I was just suggesting a way to get double run time with the same type power. I guess it's not a big deal though if you like to refuel twice as much. No need to talk tough and...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

I think the best way to go is to buy a 8.0 RTR, sell the .50 stock engine. and get a LRP spec 3 .28 The end result is one Bad Ass basher that is plenty efficient! And with some set up changes,...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

It's not an upgrade really, just a different mount to make the .50 engine fit, I think. Nonetheless, you are the first I have heard of that has broken a MGT engine mount, on any MGT. Im sure it's...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

I know a few guys that have a MMGT and stock it does not wheelie. Gear it down a tad and I bet you can get it to wheelie.

K223--by gearing up, you might lose low end torque, but having all the...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

K223, try gearing it up some. It wont have as much low end torque and might be just what you are looking for. Maybe it'll get you more power onto the ground that way while accelerating. as far as...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

If the hex is completely rounded, it's prolly done for. I have a partially stripped hex (not fully rounded out) on my old 14 mm rims that I just CA glued the hex in, and it lasted a good long while...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

The pipe needs to be sealed properly to keep the pressure right for the engine. Im thinking the bad exhaust seal is the cause of it. Maybe next time don't take short cuts and do things properly. ...
