RE: Funtana 90!

And Hitec 5645's are the same price...little less speed, more torque.

I ran 645's on all surfaces, with a YS 140...Fun Plane!!!

RE: Funtana 90!

My YS 140 shook a little, but it was a FUNNN experience.

RE: Funtana 90!

This may sound wierd, but I'll mention anyway.

I was out at our field once, and blew a plug on my OS 160. The only plug I had was an OS F-Type plug (4 stroke plug)...so I used it, and it's been...

RE: Funtana 90!

Doesn't look too bad sticking out that far...looks like my old 60/90 Aeroworks Edge when I had my Saito 180 on the nose.

RE: Funtana 90!

I didn't use the bolt's that were provided with the plane...I instead used a couple of nylon socket head bolts...then I was able to use a Allen Wrench, with the ball on the end so I could be...

RE: Funtana 90!

Well, by all means...stay safe and stay dry. I sat through 100 MPH winds during Hurricane Floyd...even a fat man like me can be blown over by those winds;). I can't imagine 140 MPH....

RE: Funtana 90!

That sounds good to me. I had a YS 140 in mine, mounted on it's side. I needed about 1/2 ounce on the left wingtip to balance it correctly.

RE: Funtana 90!

Mine pulled to the right in harriers...it helped to laterally balance the plane...that made it a lot better.

RE: Funtana 90!

I agree....my Funtana 90 flew with a YS 140...and I had zero flutter. I used good servos (Hitec 645 all around), sealed the gaps, and made sure I had good mechanical advantage on all surfaces. Even...

RE: Funtana 90!

I have the Perry oscillating pump on my 180...been on there for about 10 months now...no problems at all.

RE: Funtana 90!

Putting a 180 on this plane may be crazy...or in my case a YS 140, but you've never flown at my altitude (4400'). The thin air kills power. Believe my, I tried a Saito 100, and with 30% in the tank,...

RE: Funtana 90!

Hey, we had a Fun Fly at our field last November...and we had Quique Somenzini entertaining the people (and he was AMAZING!!!). He said it's not a bad thing to use mixes on your radio. He said most...

RE: Funtana 90!

Well, it happened...it's all because I was enjoying the plane too much.

Went to the field tonight...flying my Funtana 90 and having a blast (YS 140 - fun, fun, fun), when all the sudden...

RE: Funtana 90!

I had a servo reversor on a 60/90 Aeroworks Edge...and found out (the hard way) it does not like a 6 volt system. After I put a regulator on it that cut the voltage to 5.1, I never had another...

RE: Funtana 90!

I'm running the Saito 180 with a VP-20 shaker pump...and haven't had a problem at all...if you go to the website or catalog, I think they say something about it will work with 2 strokes and large 4...

RE: Funtana 90!

No flutter problems here either...with a YS 1.40 FZ. Maybe it's because I do not fly fast, or it could be thin air...whatever, I'm enjoying it...

RE: Funtana 90!

One word of caution when using a servo reverser...I have found out that some of them don't work well with 6 volt systems. I had a servo reverser on an Aeroworks 60/90 Edge...and did a fresh charge in...

RE: Funtana 90!

I pinned my firwall with small dowels...and also a couple pieces of triange stack as well. Usually when I want to do that, the firewall is never accessable. It's easy to get to on this plane, so I...

RE: Funtana 90!

That's the very reason I put the YS 140 in mine...4400' altitude, plus considering the heat and humidity we deal with daily, our "real" altitude is closer to 5500'. Plus, I had the 140, which made it...

RE: Funtana 90!

Mine will do a knife edge loop....but then I've got a YS 140 turning a 17x6 prop up front, so a lot of wind is going over my tail. There is quite a bit of coupling...

RE: Funtana 90!

Had to pipe in here to tell about my fun weekend with the Funtana 90....

Here's the setup:

YS 140 FZ - 20/20 Wildcat Fuel
17x6 APC Prop
Hitec 625's - Ailerons
Hitec 645's - Elevators...

RE: Funtana 90!

I agree about nitro content with the YS engines...my 140 FZ is happy with Wildcat 20/20...even happier with 30%.
