only if you have the early mercury's would there be any concern. If you have a newer mercury I wouldn't hesitate to fly with it using the gyro.

ZachU, the original mercury srs that came out with the 6-axis gyro had some issues only with some units. Make sure you have the 3-axis unit. Here is the link of the issues people were having.
