RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

It has been quite a while since Iposted in this thread. This will beyear 3 for my SV27. It has been through a lot. For anyone thinking about modifying theirs, here is my rough upgrade path.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I am nowhere near patient enough to wait a whole day. If you are using the stock cheapo receiver, just pop the case off and use compressed air on it or the hair dryer technique. I did that many...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

No I haven't. I have little LiPo experience. I went to A123 for safety reasons. The internal resistance of my A123 cells is below 50 milliohms consistently and running in a 5S-2P mode cuts that...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Have you actually used A123s? I use them in my boat regularly. Their only flaw is the odd nominal voltage. LiPo swaps 1 cell for 3 NiMH very nicely, where A123 cells are more like 2.75 NiMH cells....

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I moved my Futaba 2.4 GHz receiver to the right rear corner and put a short antenna mast tube right at the back of the top of the boat. I put the receiver in a balloon, wrapped that with a Velcro...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Today I tried out the Ammo motor I bought last year. I never had a chance to try until today. I figured rather than blow up another stock ESC I would upgrade to a Hydra 120. That part went well. ...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Boat is running well, batteries, not so good.

I had one of my first runs this year. There is always something to fix I find. Anyway, I plan to start using A123 cells soon but for now I...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Now that makes sense.

Keeping peak mph was why I bought the Geko, which it does. It has a 1 second update rate which is probably similar to the Forerunner. So it is actually a one second...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Are there multiple 201 models out there? From the Garmin site, Garmin 201 , click on 'specs' it is powered by 2 'AAA' batteries. This is the one I actually have. The 301 also uses 'AAA's. Where...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Are you sure you are talking about the 201? My 201 uses 2 'AAA' batteries.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I had the exact same thing happen to me with an E-Maxx. I got the impression I was alone based on the answers I got telling me to chase loose screws and things. I believe the high switching...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

You will have to slow down a little, what are you trying to say? I am surprised you are using 1/4" plywood though.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

My max measured speed was 40 mph exactly with 12 cells and a balanced 440/X3 prop. I had previously run 14 cells but did not have a GPS at that time. It was on the edge (not too bad), required very...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I have only used my SV27 at my cottage to date. I use my pedal boat to retrieve things. Its actually a lot of fun to drive around myself at high speed while sitting in the middle of the lake. I...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

There is a range of X440/3 experiences. Mine was balanced and polished from Finedesignsrc.com and mine let me get to 40 mph on the stock motor ESC and 12 cells. Others are not getting quite that...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

On my lake, I need really calm water for any attempt at speed at all, most of the videos I see are on really small calm ponds. My guess is 50 mph is possible. With my 40 mph run I was on 12 cells. ...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I have been planning to switchas well. I really do not want to risk my house burning down or anything else for that matter though so I was planning to go with the A123 cells for that reason despite...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I must be hard of seeing. I thought the antennas were fairly stubby. In your picture I think I see a whispy little wire poking forward through the battery box. I cannot really see the vertical...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Any chance you could post a picture of the inside of your boat? I was wondering about the antenna, is it lying horizontal under the canopy? Do you waterproof it somehow or it somehow stuck inside...
