RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

That's not uncommon at all. I think the 339 I built required pretty close to that exact same amount. When you get that weight in the nose it should compress the strut a little more and that will...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Hmm, weird as I used the measurements and they worked out just fine. Are your wing fences in the right place? The large one should be right at the aileron/flap joint.

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Richard, there was nothing wrong with the measurements that come with the plane. Skymaster expects you to put in your own mounting method. All I did was drill a 3/8" hole on the center of the...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Thats a decent point, the one that Dave was flying had 4 hard points and 2 under wing tanks.

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

I have a full cockpit kit too, doesn't add much weight though. The problem is that there is not a lot of room to mount the batteries up front. In the nose gear well there is no room for the batts...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

If I would have had the cockpit earlier I would have planned to not put items in the center of the tray's. A plane this big I would not have thought that something like that would come into play but...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

I followed your thread Marc, it was great. I finished the install and we flew the 339 on Sunday. Flies great!!! Tracks almost like a pattern plane. I had to put 2 3/4 pounds in the nose though,...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Thanks John and Richard. That was the way I was thinking of going. I just hate having to rearrange things when they were looking all nice and ready to go. Your right though Richard, the front dash...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Richard, do you have some shots of the cockpit pieces in place? It looks like the front dash has to be kept separate for install thus making the cockpit kit 3 pieces. I am getting ready to dump the...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Hey Anton, can you or anyone else who has done so post some pics of the cockpit kit install? I am currently working on that and have already run into some problems and had to move some devices off...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Thanks Marc for the idea. I had a spring setup to hold the doors but I could not find a way to actuate the doors via the strut in the up position. The servo tray is getting in the way so I decided...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Rich, which size and stroke cylinder did you use for the small doors? The ones that came with the kit dont seem to be fitting anyhwere close to what I need. I figure I need a 7/8th inch stroke...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Rich, I was going to do it that way but I am going for a more simplistic route. I know I could use a button valve and cylinders, which they actually gave me, but the cylinders dont have the proper...

RE: SkyMaster MB339 Build Thread

Anton, do you have some better pictures of the spring loaded nose gear doors and how you setup the mechanism for closing them when the strut retracts???
