Usually, a cloudy finish indicates that you have traped moisture between the finishes. Make sure that you use a tack cloth before painting and the humidity must be low. Never use a damp rag to wipe...

I used 615s and had to do just a little carving to get them in. With Robart 3/8" struts, and cap screw shanks for the connecting shafts, they seem to be fine. I was able to use the well liners that...

The local hobby shop carries Top Flght flat clear in the spray bomb. I used that to seal in the weathering and graghics.

Thnks LDM. Sounds like i gotta have one. Did they use the same rail setup in the engine compartment as the Mustang? I do prefer the firewall mounting option. I know this is the Hellcat thread so...

Oh, i forgot to mention about the pilot. It is the WWII pilot that Giant Scale Planes has. Chief also sells the same one but they are out of stock right now. Just talked to them last Friday about one...

I get aluminum flashing. The size sheets are just right to work with and can be cut, hammered, and shaped very easily yet is the right gage to hold whatever shape you bend it into and adds no weight...

Yes, though I thought the rear was fine, I did reiforce around the wing mounting bolt area with some expandable foam. It made that area nice and solid. As far as the throws, I just sold this plane...

Thought you guys might like to see my gear doors. I made them out of aluminum flashing and used Iron Bay hindges.
