RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

I have a 90 deg. adapter on my .72. Balance was not a problem. I added no weight anywhere. Pilot is a Barbie. 14 x 6 prop.

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Hey guys,

I'm seriously thinking of getting out of the hobby. If anyone in the DFW area is interested, I have my Piper Pawnee that will be the first to go. Y'all know how great a plane it is....

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Its the easiest plane I have to fly. I've gotten mine VERY slow, much slower than some of my high wing planes. you will be fine.

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

When I first got my plane, i noticed the right wing had 3 ribs cracked. I called horizon and the guy told me to send in the broken wing and they would send me a new one. Well, shipping was going...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

I don't believe I would have picked one up for 279. They have other kits for 279 that include retracts, etc. I'm glad I got one when I did. I enjoy flying it.

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

I've got 3 planes I fly right now.

A very old (18 years +) high wing sport model with a OS .46 on it. This plane just screams. It used to be my wifes plane until I confiscated it. Wilma...

Three seperate flights today. 2 this morning and one this evening. This plane flies great!. To top it off, a full size pawnee flew right over my property on the way to a job I guess. That was...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Yes, and Yes.

I didn't put a Satito .91 in this plane because of it. I settled on a Saito .72 and it flies great with that engine and a 14x5 prop.

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

If you are full throttle and put down flaps, it affects it slightly. Anything less, you have to think if you put the flaps down at all. It makes a slight difference in the descent rate, but...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Covering Blows. But monokote is much better. I used Paintable Coverite fabric a couple years ago on a biplane and I loved it! It never had a problem like the films do.

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

The OS 70 shouldnt be much different than the Saito .72. I'm running my Saito with a 14x5 prop and it does rather well. Pilot. Barbie. Ken is slightly tall, though several people are making ...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

I came across a Pawnee today in Larry's Hobby shop. Just North of Houston on I-45 and 1960. If anyone was still looking for one or waiting for one. There's your chance.

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Great day to fly. Took my Pawnee up for several flights this morning. After experimenting with different props on my Saito .72, I ended up liking the 14x5 the best. The plane is a real gem to...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

With my Barbie and Saito .72 (same physical size as .82) I was balanced out of the gate. Battery is located next to throttle servo velcro'd down to the frame. I have the flashing light. That...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Mine seems a bit sluggish with a 13 x 6 prop on it. i don't know which direction to go? 13 x 8, 14 x 6, 14 x 8? What is too much for this engine. The fuselage is so large, I'm wondering how...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Tint away. I think it would look great!.

I got mine airborne today. I've got a new Saito .72 and put a 13 x 8 prop on it. I ran it a couple tanks and it seemed like it was doing fine until...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Thanks for the encouragement, I think I will take your advice on the ultracote. I need to run by the LHS to pick up an exhaust extension anyway. With the Saito .72, I got the muffler under the...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

I was putting servos in the wing today. Left side, complete, then I get to the right side and noticed a slight crack in a rib. I looked harder at some surrounding ribs and...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Any of you guys build a hatch underneath to get to the wing servo wires? This is my first 'bolt on' wing plane and I really don't like the idea of fishing for wires everytime i fly.
Maybe there...

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!

Anybody else screw up thier aileron / Flap servo mounts? The directions said centered so I centered the servo on the hatch. Later pictures showed the spindle to be centered which is not centered...
