RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

I finally bit the bullet and installed my Castle 2650kv kit with MMM V3 controller on 5S 4500mah/30C LiPo and gave it its first run downstairs in the underground carpark. Now i always knew it was...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

Not sure about your runtimes but your speed wont be too great. Acceleration wise it will be like a rocket and if your track is small it will be perfect but 2200kv on 4S is only 32500rpm which means...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

Runaways are the worst... mine took off once running with crystals and got run over by a car doing about 70kph. After playing around with it for a while i managed to bend the chassis back into shape...

Calvin, try taking your brake discs out and sanding their faces clean with some fine sandpaper until they look new again. The...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

If your choosing between the JP-3 or JP-4 for the LRP Spec 3 get the JP-4, its better and the engine runs cooler. The LRP 2063 pipe is really good too, massive bottom/mid range (more than JP-4) and...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

You're right about the power loss when using a pullstart assembly but you dont NEED to get a new engine to run a starter box. The PRO.28's aren't the best but they still manage ok for racing or...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

I have had my ACE-DS1015 for over a year now and absolutely flogged it without a single hickup. BUT, i never drive in the wet or rain, not even when racing is on, and it doesn't snow here so  and i...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

Calvin, HS servos arent fast or torquey. You should save a bit more and buy a decent one. If the last servo decision wasnt lesson enough then take my word for it you wont regret it cause el-cheapo...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

The stock ends fit perfect on the HPI 80mm turnbuckles but i dont know about any other brands. Im pretty sure they would all share the same thread pattern if they are the same size/thickness

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

Well as good as all these new truggies are, or aren't, compared to the ST-1, it still comes down to user preference and affordability. And at the end of the day i personally know i can probably count...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

It sounds like you just need a re-tune. Also chack all your fuel lines especially at the ends where they connect to the fittings sometimes they can split a little bit and suck air in. Also check your...

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

I just put my Hong Nor 16mm big bores together and one of the rear shock shafts has been broken or something, the threaded part on the end that holds the shock piston is just gone. Not happy!!!

RE: Thunder tiger ST-1

The rear diff leaks from over-use. Because you never use oil in it there is no resistance in the diff action and over time all the free spinning and build up of heat causes it to wear out the seals...
