A lot of them have the rudder like that. This will cause the rear of the boat to lift in the corner. I would straighten it, but make sure not to go past 90deg in the other direction.

Sounds like you have to much grease in your tube. To much will act like glue. You do not need much at all on the shaft just keep the bushing packed.

No need to add weight when running lipos. The front of the lipos need to be about 1 1/2 inch in front of the motor mount.
Dont get the topflight balancer it is made for plane props and the magnets...

Lipos will not hurt the stock esc but the esc will hurt the lipos, you need to add a LVC. 3.3v is best.

I like the Poly-RC or Poly Quest lipos. They are under rated, powerfull and last for years if taken care of. My second pick would be Thunder power V2 series.

gzee. Sounds like your boat is set up correct.
The turn fin should be slightly angled back.
If you push the bottom of the rudder towards the transome it will turn better but will loose a little...

The motor does not use o-rings on the mount. Just bolt it in.

Most of the set screws are locktighted in. Hold a sodering iron on the coupler beside the set screw until it smokes and it should come out.

I found the grim props were balanced very well out of the box but are also very thick. I needed to thin and sharpen them alot to get them up to speed.
