Actually (if I remember correctly) my sleeve/piston kit cost less than 1/5th the price of my engine and when I snapped my rod it was about 1/20th of the price

Also the engine isn't just thrown away if it's good
You just get a new piston and sleeve kit which should be a fraction of the engines cost
