Unfortunately I had a switch failure that caused me to loose my glassed 190. I had a lot of good flights on it, and had it dialed in and running great with the EME-70 Twin. At least the retracts...

If you look back farther in this thread you'll see a lot of discussion about the Robart retracts. Much of the problem was due to an issue where the trunion pins on the retracts were too soft, and...

There is no doubt that adding some toe out will help with the tendency to ground loop. Even the Germans specified toe out on the full-sized Fw-190 (find a manual, it's there). I would also stay...

I haven't bought one in a while. I've had 4 and they all had the 68mm standoffs.

I recently removed the DLE-55RA from one of my 190's and installed an EME-70. This is a heavy one, weighing 33...

Many have mounted the DLE-55RA. The dimensions are almost the same as the regular 55. 55RA is 171mm mount to prop hub, 55 is 170mm. You need the same number of spacer plates to get to 184mm.

Try a 23x10. I had an EME-70 on a TopRC Zero, and it was quite fast with that prop. The 23x12 may be a bit much for it, not letting it wind out. The Zero seems to be a bit faster than the 190 with...

I got some 1/4 internal dimension bearings and inserted them into the wheels I had. Other than that, you almost have to use aluminum wheels that have good brass bushings or bearings. Regular...

The Sierra gear will hold up, even at the wrong dihedral. The wheels have a lot of strain on them though. You'll need wheels with good bearings, or they will not hold up due to the the angle caused...

ALWAYS use toe out on an FW-190. Toe in will not end well, it will increase the tendency to tuck under. Of course if you always fly off of grass, you may get away with it.

It's been a long time, but I think I got it from a local fluid power supplier. One of the type we got failed due to vibration. Don't hard mount them. You can get some with the small pipe thread...

Actually I think you have to change it from 2 degrees to 5 degrees, so a change of 3. There have been some posts about how to do it, I just don't know where they are right now.

I went in and looked at the photo of the Skyshark mounts, and it does appear that they are recessed into the wing farther than normal. I'm not sure if it would provide the 3 degrees needed to get...

The Skyshark kit didn't exist when these were mounted, way back on page 12 in this thread there are some photos showing how the mounts were made by Ramstein44. I doubt the Skyshark kit corrects the...

JV, If I built one now I'd put in the effort to mount the Sierra main gear. Keep in mind you need to add some dihedral to the wing or the angle of the gear will be wrong. I have the glassed 190...

One thing I did that helped stop the bending of the Sierra tail wheel piston was install an air regulator in the line. By reducing the pressure to 60psi, the tail wheel piston would compress if it...

I installed the Sierra tailwheel in two 190's that I built. I would not recommend it. The design of the tailwheel is such that any side load bends the shaft on the air piston. We've replaced them...

The new robart trunions have much harder pins and are actually quite sturdy. You can tell if you have the harder pins, the end of the pin is rough, and there's usually a three digit number on the...

The DLE55RA is an easy install. I'd recommend that you make a heat shield to go between the carb and the muffler. If you put a 55RA on a Mustang or Spit it's a must, but it is still a good idea on...

Ramstein 44 would know what constitutes too many mods to an ARF, since he's been there a few times. I own the one he documented early in this thread, and even though the wing has not been modified...

All new trunions are twin pin, even the ones installed in the pneumatic gear. They did that so they wouldn't have two different part numbers to stock.

It seems unlikely to me that the cam blocks are different, they're molded plastic. That would lead me to believe that it has to be the pins. A very small difference in the pin alignment on the...

Good info. For some reason I was thinking the wing had a tube in it. That would have made it much harder to modify. As it is your added dihedral should allow the Sierra gear to work perfectly.

Make sure you're sliding the hatch forward prior to trying to remove it. There's a dowel in the rear.
