That odd Broggyr

I dont have a problem with breezes, its the teleposts in my basement that seem to act as heli-magnets when I am working on side-ins that cause me the most grief. :)

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I just ran an 800 mah bat through. Ran till the ESC low voltage protection kicked in. Charger showed 6.9 volts and 6% left. Within about 5 mins the battery had recovered back to 7.3 volts. When the...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Chuck, you are right about the weight impcting how much the wind tosses it around.

For me, the F40 is my indoor, learn orientation (low cost to repair my learning mistakes), backyard on...

Hflyer, what type/make of charger do you have.

I have a balancing charger and put the batteries on warm. they say wait until the batteries cool down. There is a min voltage that you don't want...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Bones, got a scale and have been weighing everything in site. The stock brushed motor is 48 grams. My new BL motor came in and it weighs 27 grams on the nose. With the new motor, 800 mah lippo,...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I think we are on the same page.

The rpm of the motor is limited by voltage.

As the voltage drops RPM drops

At higher altitudes you need higher rotor speed to get the same lift as...

Reason To change the pinion Gear

The motors (brushed I believe and for sure brushless) have a KV rating or RPM per volt rating. The motor I am using now is a 3800 KV. When I am using 11.1...

Thanks Broggyr

They have the 13 in stock but not the 12. Need to find something else to put into the order to make the shipping worthwhile.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Yes chuck, your flight time will be less.
How long can you hover on a stock battery? out of ground effect.
Be very careful about adding weight (a lesson I have/am learning). Superskids are...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

NooBHeli - batteries

You are off on a tangent with the C rating

The flight time is dependant on the mah rating and the overall weight of the heli.

The only factor the C rating is for...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

FASL = Feet Above Sea Level (the elevation of where you live). The higher the elevation, the less dense the air, the less air density the less lift the rotors will develop for a given rotor RPM.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Too funny!

To all in the great lippo race, WATCH YOUR WEIGHT. 7.4 lippos + Superskids + 3200 FASL = very poor flight times.

Chuck Re: C-ratings and batteries.

Forgive me if i talk in Amps as apposed to mah. In your example of a 1000 mah battery (1 ah battery) you are correct that at a 1C (1 x the battery rating)...

Boyrazelo

The biggest problem I experienced with my heli was very very short flight times on 7.4 lippos. I read about how everyone gets long flight times and thought it was perhaps that I went...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

1) take blades off and balance them. Bolt together at hole with them facing away from each other and teater them. Add scotch tape to the light one till they balance.

2) Check to make sure that...
