I also do what Albert has said here. Other then a wood grain appearance difference, you can't see a joint. I also glue 1/8" balsa on the edge grain cut balsa that is used on the vertical stab seat....

Sure, that location will work for the rudder servos. Here is mine that I used Futaba 9152 which are bigger with no problems. Plane has flown all of this past summer.
