Rpm gain from a tuned pipe is generally from about 1000 to 2000 over a stock muffler. Engines that normally run at high rpm usually get the most rpm gain.

Another point comes to mind that is IMO a basic rule of thumb for flyimg RC planes (especially for beginners) is that the farther away you fly, the higher the plane should be. A 'fly zone' shaped...

If it's the same style as your other one, just make a copy from a machine screw/nut the right size.
