RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Haven't checked this thread for a while but I've placed a couple of orders from East Coast Hobbies and they were very good to deal with. Wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I offer my posts here as a FREE service to other hobbyists as most people do here. I guess I just have a pet peeve about people using the forum to operate their own businesses (even if they are...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Dane, may I ask where you got your photo? That sure looks a lot like the one I posted on my fuse mod. If that's the case, you really should ask for permission before you use it for commercial...

Larry, I knew there was a reason that I wouldn't recommend this for beginners!!:D:eek:[&o]

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Hey, give it a try. Just wanted you to be aware that it's not as straightforward as soldering a wire to a connector.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I'm sure others may disagree but I think soldering in a small, surface mounted, mosfet is not for the faint of heart.:D:D My guess is that, unless you've done that kind of soldering before, you'll...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Dane, I don't want to argue the merits of the various metal head options but you're wrong about the East Coast Hobbies "kit". The kit is just a collection of the individual head parts and they are...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Dane, nice to "meet" you also. Thanks very much for that update on using the Xtreme parts with Simon's rotor core. I'm encouraged to give them a try now that I know that you can get them to work with...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Michael at USHobbySupply has indicated that the Xtreme blade grips won't fit Simon's core without compressing the core "ears" slightly in a vise (which you do at your own risk). Do you know that the...

They used to list 25 posts per page but it now looks like they have gone to 20.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Larry, BP Hobbies also carries the heat sink. Here's another photo of what it looks like on.

Yes, nice job on that fuselage although I'd be worried about busting the thing up flying it!:D:D

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

In this particular case, I'm sorry to hear it.[:o] Don't know anything about that other motor.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

YES, ABSOLUTELY, your motor will last longer. Don't forget to remove any paper label from the motor before you slide on the heat sink. If you get the narrow style heat sink you can even put on two....

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

As I may have mentioned before, the 4G1B head parts are certainly not in the same league as the high quality CNC parts I have on my 3DX450SE. However, they are very inexpensive and are certainly much...

Get the SuperSkids and you won't go wrong. They come with full instructions for mounting them. More info and photos at the SuperSkids website.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Brian, I knew someone had done it but I didn't remember that it was you!. I did a quick thread search on tail rotors but couldn't come up with the photo though. Did you also go all brushless (main...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I've seen this one done before also but I don't recall how it worked out. My other concern would be the life of the tail motor. They don't last that long as it is and I wonder if the added strain of...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Not to take away from what you are doing at all, but, if you search this thread, I think you'll find that full brushless systems have been done before as well as the belt drive tail systems with a...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Although I haven't personally used it, I know that the Slo-Max is a much more powerful motor than the stock motor. The people who have used it generally have problems with the stock tail motor...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I wish I could apply that extra credit toward skill in flying my 3DX450!:D:D As I said, that was a project that you kind of move back to rather than start out with!

Yup, that's the 4G1B...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Well, this is not really a practical solution for people just starting out, but it is possible to put a belt driven tail on a FP heli and eliminate the tail motor altogether. See my post on the...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

If your using the resettable overcurrent protection fuse that USHobby sells, it's listed under the Blade CX/CX2 coaxial parts, so maybe it's not rated high enough to handle the current draw of the...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Another good choice is the Futaba S3114. IMHO, they are better quality than the HS-55's, are faster and have more torque, fit better on the Falcon 40 frame, and you also don't have to reverse their...
