If I could add my two cents worth.

The reason I personally went with opening up the fuse and doing the fuse mounted landing gear was simple........this is an ARF ! The acronym ARF means (to me)...

She's supposed to come in at 18.1 pounds. She currently weighs a whopping 23 pounds. If I can shed 3.5 pounds, I can get her down to a manageable 19.5 pounds. I can live with being about 1.5 pounds...

Actually, if she is still trying to float, you may have the CG pretty close right now. I don't think I'd move the CG any more...

Sullivan is the way to go !:D I have them on a number of my taildraggers..............no problems.

They make four different sizes of tailwheel brackets. I used an S861 on my Giant Super...

The Steerman gear will make your Sportster look great.:D

After a few of the fellahs had already done the Steerman conversion it also looked good...
