RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I use a Spektrum system also, the standard JR digital servo, I think it is the DS821 is fine. Mine is electric, so no throttle servo.

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

HRB74 - Look at post #679, Anderhau has done all of this very nicely. Even has an electric starter.

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I made my instrument panel removable, the whole assembly is a tight fit. It is held in place by two tiny screws through the sides. Louie

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I have my flaps on a 3 position switch, the first being about 10 degrees (1/2"?) and the second a lot more, maybe 40 deg. I have used the 10 deg setting for both takeoff and landings. The Cessna is...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

In my electric version, I used a Y harness on the rudder channel with a reverser for the nose gear servo. Louie

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Anderhau - I have the electric version that is shown on the H-9 web site - but I don't see the link any more, there was a 2004 article on the electric conversion. I got it from the original builder,...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

As for the rudder - I have the first electric conversion, it's built as per the plans with the servos in the tail and the rudder works fine in spite of the awkward angle. My throw is almost as wide...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Xtraflyr - you are right that the starter is really cool. I think that if you go back a few months on this thread, there is a video of the plane parked, the nav lights and beacons are then switched...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Guys - I am running a Spektrum 2.4 system with 2000 mA pack in an all electric version (Hacker, TP) of this plane without any problems. I would not have this investment on anything other than 2.4 GHz...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

AndersH and Erlend - I am setting up the flaps - what do you mean when you say 50% flaps? According to what I can find, the maximum deflection should be 40 degrees (zero being no flaps deployed). My...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Thanks Bazza - I think I will try some CA under the corrugated control surfaces with clamps to get the bubbles out. This Cessna is about 4 years old, and has had some time in the sun, which may have...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Bazza - I have read this thread since it started, and am sorry to see that you lost the Cessna. As for the delays from Horizon, I am seeing the same thing. I have heard that there are shutdowns for...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Need help - A couple of questions about setting up my Cessna -
1. My elevators have some bubbles in the corrugated control surfaces - can these be ironed down? How is this material attached?
2....
