RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Kintec is great! Their parts are good and shipping is fast. I bought a few things for my SV there and can't complain (that coupler is worth the money, a ton better than my Octura one). I tried the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I'd say you're right. I ran it for a little longer and this time didn't stop when it started to smoke (kept an eye on motor temps, BL motors overheat fast with little-no load on them) and let it...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I just have a can of the Grim Racer grease, the shaft was greased so much I had to wipe off the excess that was oozing out of the strut bushing and out each end of the teflon liner. I don't see any...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What all needs to be cleaned? I flux all of my connections before soldering, makes everything go together SO much quicker, easier, and cleaner. I still think the angle on the stock motor mount is...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What would cause a flex shaft to break? I finally got the rebuild of my SuperVee done and it made it 50-100 feet and stopped. When I retrieved it there was a little bit of flex shaft left in the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Wow, that thing is trimmed out nice! Is that with the CF48? The rooster tail looked more like a 3 blade prop but I'm still a noob at boats.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Be sure to let us know how it works. I've got the Grim Racer 40x52 and didn't like how long it took to hook up, the Graupner props hook up much nicer but I like the looks of the GR prop and the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

The 440 is a good prop, but I think the CF props would be a better bet. I'd go with a 42 or a 45 to keep temps reasonable, a 48 is optimal but IMO takes too much extra effort to make it work...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Today I found out why my SuperVee was having issues. I gave the old ESC and motor to my brother and when we were testing it it wouldn't arm and he accidentally pulled the blue wire right out of the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

The Neu 1521/1D is a 2,900 KV motor (AMP HOG!) I think a 1512/2Y on 6s would be pretty much the ultimate setup for the SV, maybe not the fastest but it could power it to the limit of your handling...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What does a good NiMH pack cost? $60? Those will put out 40ish amps (not too capable of handling what some of us want out of our boats), need more special care than a lipo, and won't last as long. ...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

They all sound the same, it's the ESC sending some weird kind of signal to the motor to make it sound like a beep. I don't know how it works but all motors will beep unless something is wrong.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I'm pretty sure it's rated to 45A continuous. HobbyCity has 45 and 60 amp ESCs for a good price. I've got 2 of the older generation 60A ESCs and have mixed feelings about them. They're very smooth...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Check the knob on the top of the radio. I don't remember which way to turn it to get more throw out of the steering, but you can power it up out of the water and turn all the way to one direction and...

I'm sure it's been wet a few times.

Which motor were you using in that pic?

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I did go back a ways and send off a report, it was getting way off topic and out of control. Glad to see it's all gone!

Iran across a motor on HobbyCity for $25 that would probably power the SV...

Yeah, Iwas hoping he'd take the whole page and he did. I didn't know electrical tape would work on the hatch, I've got tons of it! My electronics have myself and everyone else I've talked to baffled,...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Iwas using a pair of 6 cell NiMH packs. I know how to fix the leaks, been through this already. Ido need some hatch tape, but my LHSdoesn't stock it so I will order some on my next OSE order. The...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Check Post 4426 and tell yourself the same thing.

I'm not going to bother calling them, I'd rather rebuild it and have it my way than get replacement parts. None of my RCs stay stock for long,...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

If they didn't fail Iwouldn't be having this problem. I'll be greasing the new shaft, and check to make sure none of the mounting points for the rudder, turn fin, etc. are leak points.

Itried...
