We follow the same school of thought. I've been preaching this for years. Kits, ARF's, plans almost always have a "best guess" approach to balance. When you do the math, there are no more surprises....

Wasn't debating the issue about dihedral, just pointing out what is does to a model airplane. Top Flite has always been about a model's flyability, not scale fidelity.

It's refreshing to see that others have discovered the advantages of a properly balanced model. Nose heavy lands fast and hard and snap-rolls with too much elevator deflection, which becomes...

Been using them for the better part of 10 years without problem. Plus, I'm sure I'm not the only Robart customer to buy them!

You probably should try something before you render an opinion.

1/6th normal speed is a reference to a normal air retract speed and has nothing to do with "scale motion", whatever that is. Unrestricted air retracts slap up and slap back down and the airline...

You can also make the retraction cycle more realistic by adding Robart's line restrictors to the system. They will slow the cycle to roughly 1/6th normal speed. No change in reliability or function.

If that little fan dragged your engine down, it needs a re-build! Obviously it WILL help with cooling when at idle, that's why it was installed on the original.
