RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

You may notice that in the middle picture for the conversion componenets, there's a "filler" sleeve. The OD of the original, steel liner is larger than the Picco, brass liner. So, it's possible to...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Working on it, hopefully HobbyKing will respond. I have no doubt that the Shuriken delivers the goods but it looks twice as heavy as necessary. A good, cast case that will also take a throttle will...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Agree.

That reminds me of some guy named Nobel a few years ago. He spilled some chemicals and fearing the wrath of his wife, he hung the rags up to dry over the stove. Next thing he knew, BANG,...

The future is here, guys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zApmGFDA6ow I hope to see the day you can buy one of these as easily being able to afford a laptop or Iphone.

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Thanks for the link. Lots of good info and sources for the bits and pieces for experimentation. All of which has inspired me to make the Norvel .074 into a ball bearinged device. The intent is to...

It gets better. Here, http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?ref=IE8Activity&from=&to=en&a=http%3a%2f%2fprofi-me.narod.ru%2fphotoalbum1kub.html the translated version, tells us that it's...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

As I poke around looking for a Toki/Fuji crank, (Mecoa) I came across this. http://profi-me.narod.ru/photoalbum1kub.html Pretty snazy, looks light, looks fast. I get it now, the angled exhaust clears...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

A brass bushing at the front end that's a tad shorter will eliminate the need to grind away at the crank. Add a rear bearing and we may just have some serious potential.

IF the Fuji just happens...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

My Picco/Brodak uses the piston, liner, rod and crank from the Picco, no bearings. I used the weak, Picco crank because it was a drop in fit. You say the Fuji is also a drop in with the bore smaller...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

CP, aspeed,

Thanks for the additional clarification. I have 10% that I didn't know what to do with,, rarely fly anything over a hopped up OS .10

That link led me to over an hour of...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Thanks CP,

I get it. In combat, no restricitons, the idea is to do whatever it takes to win. As in any airial combat, he he goes fastest has the advantage, I guess.

SO, I'll settle on 25%...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Was the VA a MK1 or MK2?

I have them both,,,, this is going to be fun.

I'll have to go out in the boonies though, no mufflers are gonna cause a riot for sure. [>:]

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

CP,

Thanks for the additional input. I'll get me a few 4.2 X 4 APCs and play around with the idea. Please confrim that all this discussion is about open exhaust? Also, what's the oil type and...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Well, it sounds to me that I'll have to try and prove the skeptics wrong. Skepticism is healthy, justified and necessary. And it is very true that while I can control what I do to deliver the goods,...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

OS configured their exhaust in that way so that they could use simple, teflon pads to hold the piston pin in place. The holes in the piston ride between the ports in the cylinder. But in any case,...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

CP,

I suppose you're right, but you never know. I'm guessing that at the right price, those grey haired guys might spring for something new and unique, well made but cheap and LIGHT. A Cyclon...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

CP,

I mentioned that prop only because that's one I have on hand. But thanks for the info, I'll work towards that goal. HobbyKing asks for inventions/ideas that they can put into production....

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

How fast will a 250 dollar Cyclon run? What fuel, what prop? What will it do on a 5 X 2 APC?

How much does a Cyclon weigh?

I have a Taig lathe with a few attachements. Cost about 300...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Well, I went to order one but they want 20 bucks for shipping. That's some 60% of the cost. Shoot, HobbyKing, all the way from around the world would charge only about 5 dollars for such an item. Oh...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Well, the problem with the Picco is making up a proper header. I get a decent 1500 RPM boost with the pipe on a Norvel and VA with a 6 x 3 prop, no problems,, never got them up to 27K on small props,...

RE: Picco P-zero 0.8cc

Yow,

Now we know why the Picco rod is so expensive. Did I see 65 dollars in their parts list? Worth every penny considering the work involved.

Geez, soft crank pins. Why would they do...
