RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

With the .91, your going to be way tail heavy, and with the added weight that you will need in the nose, it's going to be a struggle to 3D the plane. Make the rudder pull-pull, and mount the servo in...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

When adding weight to a control surface, you are changing the dynamics. I dont know the technical name for it, but you changing the resonance and slowing the feedback from the fludder.

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

Took it out for its Maiden today and it flew like a champ. Two clicks of right airleron, one click of up elevator, and it flew perfect.

With the Saito 1.25 spinning a Zinger Pro 16*6 wood prop...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

Well build is just about done. And yet again, at 90mm it is still horribly tail heavy.

I moved the engine 5mm further forward than the first one to compensate for it being tail heavy, I now have...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

First I would check hindge gap, then flying wires in the tail. Make sure they are tight, but not overly tight as it can affect pitch and roll tendancys and also rip off your feathers if you strain...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

So the edge is now on the back burner. It flies good, but I have aquired a bunch of new airplanes that need TLC and soem that are NIB.

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

Yea, like before, I think I just got a lemon of a plane. It seems fine now, so well see what happens. I doubt I will purchase another seagull product due to this issue.

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

In a pull pull design, when one cable fails, the other one only has one of two options. That would be like this:

Look down at the tail, if the right side cable breaks the rudder will flail in...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

There comes a point when functionality should be put as a priority over looks. I think you are at this point. A link from point A to B should only require two connections. From servo horn to control...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

There Saito 1.00 and 1.25 are simaller in weight. Yes, you can move the engine forward a bit to balance it out with less weight, but I found that the further out, the bigger the gap between the...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

Well....I am on my way to the field in a bout 30 minutes to take another flight on this thing. I Noticed that my balancing wasnt the best when I put it up on the CG balancer. For some reason, it...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

This is exactly what I am thinking. Hoenstly, I hate letting anything "beat" me, so i think I am going to tackle this full force. I am going to make a tray for the fuel tank, move it as close to the...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

So this is rediculous already. I replaced all the rods in the back, balanced it off at 90mm and the plane flys ok. Once the tank runs low it is rediculously tail heavy. I have no clue what to do with...
