As far as the wire goes I would use #10 silicon for sustained 70 amps. But, if 70 amps is only going to be short bursts and you will be at lower amperages during flight then #12 silicon should be OK....

+1 for Cutaway. The wires will only have to carry the load that is put on them. If you connect a 12 volt 1 amp motor to a 1000 12 volt batteries in parallel the wires are still only going to carry...
