Hey John, I had the same thought on the springs in the main gear strut. I took them apart and put a round ball bearing (big enough to just fit the strut tube) and got what I was looking for in spring...

Hey Joe, My buddy also bought the 310 but the electric conversion was just too much money from Down and locked for him. He is using OS 55s. Very nice looking bird though. That thing is huge.

I gave the vibration some thought also. First I balanced the props and spinners which made a huge difference. I also put some Tech Bond in the cowling screw holes and used the larger servo screws....

I found three types of hinges. You can use metal located at http://www.gravesrc.com/ROBART_350_GEAR_DOOR_HINGES_p/rob350.htm
for around 10 bucks for two

or you can use the nice plastic ones...
