RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

srt10,

With new batteries (old ones were puffing) I am getting 41mph on the S225 prop.  So that worked out pretty well.  The S215 is around 37mph most of the time and is a fun overall prop.  The...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Last update until I get some new LiPo batteries later this season.  My 30C 4000's are getting old and running too hot for comfort.  (I'm only getting about 2500mAh on a charge.)

On 6S @1100kV, I'm...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Thanks for the tip on the S225; I ordered two to experiment with.  It should be interesting how close I end up to 41 MPH.

Unrelated to this, the prop shaft pulled out a few days ago and the water...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I did a bunch of changes over the Winter, and the old SV27 lives on.  :)

I took the water pickup on the steering rudder and use that to just cool the ESC now off the port side.  I added a...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Ok thanks; it was an old motor (2 years of heavy running) and maybe it was worse-off than I previously thought.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

It might be the prop size; I went down in pitch so Iwouldn't do-in the ESC. I'm using an aftermarket ESC by the way; so hopefully that is still OK. 50 MPH is pretty impressive; it must look like a...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Hi everyone; just a follow-up on my SV27 experiments this Summer.

Running 3S2P (two 3s batteries in parallel) + Prather S215 prop, my average max speed was right around 25MPH. That's a good "fun"...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

keithbradley, I only made it to 37.5 MPH with that S-230. It would take quite a bit of work to figure out what the best prop is on a 6S. And even if I could get it working, it would not be all that...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Thanks for the tips, it's going to be Saturday now until I get to try it again.  I discovered that the motor mount on the port side broke loose from the epoxy.  This happened after I had reinforced...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Ok, everything was set today so I gave that S-230 a try. I knew it would be a bit much but I figured let's try it, the Neu 1415 can do ~1.5HP continuous and I have a 120A ESC with 120A LiPo...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Imade a few changes on it, and with a Prather S-215 (very mild) prop, I'm getting 33.5mph on a Garmin Forerunner 205 GPS. It's a fun setup on 6S for punchin' it around the lake, and it doesn't flip...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Last message for awhile...

I wired up the two 3S batteries as 3S2P and the SV27 ran for 20 minutes with 4000mAh batteries. Not bad; the batteries were barely warm, the ESC less warm, and the Neu...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I can't move the center of gravity farther forward without moving the water exit tube farther forward. i.e. the battery hits the water exhaust.

The good news though is that Iwon't need to do that....

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Ryan, Iwas reading up on previous posts and totally missed your post. Sorry about that, I wasn't ignoring it.

The carbon tube was fine, it broke off the hatch and slid inside the boat. Ya, you're...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I'll have to think about that one overnight; I'd have to relocate the water outlet farther forward and plug the hole as a minimum.  I'll play with 3S tomorrow and see if it's too wimpy on the CF45. ...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

It's about 8" from the stern, which is what I've read is ideal.  Hope that's right.  I can't get the batteries any farther forward than that; they are almost touching the water outlet as it is.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Here's my update on the SV27 + Swordfish 120 + Neu 1415/1.5Y + 6S LiPo in case you're interested (maybe just srt10; maybe more)... Anyway, the short story is that I need to figure out a way to slow...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

srt10, you're running the STOCK ESC on 5S?  You must have the best stock ESC around to survive that!  :)

I did get my setup running with the Swordfish 120 on 6S.  It was only brief however; the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I *just* ordered some 3S, 30C, 4000mAh LiPo batteries and a new 120A ESC for my SV27 so that I can run 6S. Now, I know what you're thinking...OK, how long until the motor goes? :D

I have a Kintec...
