RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Id say keep it all in this thread. This thread is for all versions of the evader, so its helpful to all. Im not convinced yet that they have fixed all the transmission issues, and the brushless is...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

I dont really think the bl gearbox upgrade will cost $70 since you can get the whole gearbox for $30 or less. Shouldnt be but another $10-15 in parts and wont have to do any rigging to make it work.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Im not sure if this was aimed at me, but you CAN swap the brushless gearbox in, its just gonna cost quite a bit more because you need the gearbox and extra parts. However, it all depends on what...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Here is the complete diff. However, i think you'd have to swap axles, dogbones, and the trans plate to run it:

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

You may be best to order a whole new differential and case assembled on ebay. You can usually get the reasonably priced on there.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Apparently duratrax has been working on this instead of the evader[X(]

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

You know it really is sad. My evader was the first new r/c i have bought in a long time. I really enjoyed the truck and it was tough except for the driveline. I just didnt have the urge to spend 1/3...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

You will never have a problem with that piano wire. I broke some factory drive pins on the CV joints on my Associated Monster GT. Its been converted to brushless, and weighs 13 pounds. Its the pure...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Well guys, im somewhat sad to report I sold my evader and its shipped out as of yesterday.....

I like the truck itself extremely well. But at this point I dont trust the transmission. It looks...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Already tried that and it made no difference. It was worn out in almost the exact same amount of time. I was hoping the grease would help, but it didnt do it for me.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

The metal diff gear alone will work just fine. I heard that there are some washers you have to use behind the spiders when installing them into the metal diff gear so remember that.

What i was...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

The problem is that even though the top shaft is metal it is a bad material. Mine has worn the teeth down thin twice now. I wish the $9 diff gear was all that was really needed...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Sorry for the slow reply. I was subscribed to this thread and it never showed a new post. Oh well. haha

Anyways. I have been able to put some time on the t4 now with the same brushless system...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Ok guys, tower hobbies has ALL the brushless evader driveline parts available as of last night!

For those wanting to run an evader with a strong brushless setup, you really want these gears to...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

My wife, her family, and me went on a little trip this past weekend and i decided to take the evader and see if i could find a good spot to run it[8D]

My father in law brought his brand new...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

I got my new top gear in my evader a few days ago and have been running it some.

Went to a little public track Friday and ran it some. I was very pleased with how it drove and it took the hits...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

The evader driveline at the moment is a little on the weak side for me. With larger, meatier tires like you'd run for bashing, you really have to leave the slipper too loose. My stampede with a...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

On a track or hard packed dirt, some sort of pin tire is the only way to go. For all around bashing, the dirt hawg, or dirt works would be good options.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Well, honestly I think it should hold up doing that. It would if it had a good steel diff gear, and a top gear from good material. I still like my evader, however I just bought a brushless T4 for a...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

I think the brushless version is coming in a little too high. If they have all the bugs worked out of the transmission, it will be a good truck, but at that price, it has to compete with the...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

I figured the aluminum idler wouldnt really be the fix. And im with you in that its not worth the $15 unless it was the ultimate fix.

I agree. The Evader platform is honestly probably...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Thanks again for the info Noff. I was just fixing to pass it along here so that some of the other evader owners could be happy about having an upgraded top gear like I am. [8D]

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

I can handle waiting on the brushless parts if they are better, but im just worried the top gear may be of the same materials as the one we currently have. When my replacement transmission comes in,...

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.

Yep, that is the problem.

Has anyone tried running it with the optional aluminum idler to see if it gets chewed up or not still? Im guessing maybe both gears would wear in this case. Im sure a...
