Don, that looks fine. You could even put another coat or two on it and be ok..just my opinion.

Don, were I you I would add another coat. You can always De-sheen via steel wool.

The real issue isn't a matter of taste or beauty or anything else. Its a matter of what's proper. The WWI...

I don't buy into the "wet look" due to rain, dew etc. at all.

Many, many period photographs show gloss finishes on the planes. Of course the newer the plane the glossier they were. The UV would...

Wouldn't you suppose that since the planes were doped that's how they would look? I can't imagine them going over the dope with something else to make them look "more scale"!
