RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

With the TT46 try the 11x5 ,12x4, and 12.25x3.75 props to see which works best for you on the Twist. I have the 12x4 apc on my Twist 40.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Try an apc 12.25 x 3.75 or 12 x 4 prop - that will give you more thrust.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Linkadrip,

I found mine would loose altitude quickly if using full travel with my rudder. Try using less input in knife edge.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I fly the 40 size with the Magnum 52xls with an apc 12x4 prop - it's a very good combination.

Pit-Viper 1

Using the justengines web site calculator it works out to $134.98 after removing their VAT tax but before shipping charges.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

There is a Twist 120/150 thread posted on the arf forum containing a lot of info - some on gas eng installation.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

On my saito 72 's I have been using apc 13x6 or 14x4 props with good results on 15% fuel. One engine on a ucando and the other on a cg extreme 330. These props should also work well on the twist 40...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

My twist 40 is powered by a magnum 52xls using a 12x4 apc prop. I have found that to knife edge it takes full throttle but only partial rudder - not full as the coupling effect is too great - with...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

My twist 60 hovers with a saito 91 using an apc 15x4 prop. The os 91 surpass should be able as well.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

With the 50 deg temp change your problem might just be the carb settings. The carb needs to be richened when the temp gets noticably cooler.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Dubro makes large servo arms that give more throw and are thicker as well that I use on 3d type planes.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Mine is off also - I just split the difference at neutral so one is up a little and the other down. I have not had a problem. You might fly it first to see if it really is noticable in flight.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I like the way my Twist 60 with a Saito 91 flys better than my Twist 40 with the Magnum 52 xls. Both can hover fine it is just that my 60 size is more stable at very slow flight.

Dubro makes the larger servo arms that will give the control throws you are needing.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I have the magnum 52 xls on the twist 40 - my battery is placed under the fuel tank to transfer weight to balance - you might try that.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Performance is about the same. I feel the 12x4 spools up a little faster due to being lighter but both are good props.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

If your friend has previous experience with 3d flying, I fly with my cg at 5 7/8 and using an apc 15x4 prop with a saito 91 on my twist 60. There are some flyers who prefer their cg at 5 1/4. I love...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

You might try a 13x6 or 14x4 with the saito 72 - those are the props I found to work best. With the 12.25x3.75 it is under propped a bit.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Based on where mtwister said he tried his cg - his twist is quite nose heavy compared to most others. Mine is at 5 3/4 inches like many fliers of the 40 size twist on this forum. Sold my u can do and...
