RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I love the strut brace, much classier than my trimmed spare back panel insert from an old PC.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Don't forget a servo, you need one for steering. I use this one in my lunchbox and it's never had a problem:

I'd also get at least...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Good pick up, thanks for noticing that. Tower doesn't have Dirt Hawgs in 2.8 (not premounted) so I have decided to go with Street Fighters, so then I'll have a set of Desparados for off road and the...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Thanks Hwa224 for that explanation again, consider me double educated.

I'm going to go for two combinations, both your suggestions.

These:
Front:...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I've never broken a suspension arm, but I have broken:

1) all body mounts - replaced with lots of epoxy glue and aluminium mounts
2) lost the hub on one wheel, it sheered clean off (and it was a...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

OK, I understand, and I think I know where I've been having trouble, i'm finding it difficult to find wheels which accept the 5x11x4m bearings because most of the 2WD vehicles I've seen still use a...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Awesome, thanks for the links, that helps me A LOT. I assume that using those front adapters means I can use any 12mm Hex type wheel and just re-use the bearings from the existing Lunchbox wheels,...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Those allow wheels look fantastic but the cost is a bit high for anything but a shelf queen Lunchbox (which IMHO is a travesty!)

My nephew was driving my Lunchbox and the hub on the front wheel...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Welcome to the world of Lunchbox, it looks like you have some big plans!

As an alternative to the body posts you are doing (which will do the job just fine I'm sure), I used these:

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I'd be tempted to buy that just to sit it on the shelf! A chome one would be awesome too.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Since you would be throwing away a majority of the orignial LB mechanics and trying to retrofit new axels, gearbox etc on to the bathtub, I think you would be better off buying a standard crawler and...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I've had that guy bookmarked for a while but haven't really found a need to change my tyres, the stock ones are holding up to the abuse and look great.

A ton is an understatment, he has 1000+ sets...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

You just grabbed the stock nylon gearing? I'm guessing nobody has produced an alloy set for the Lunchbox :)

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I'm running a 4600KV with 2S 30C LiPo in my Lunchbox and i've not (yet) had a problem with the gearing.

I don't baby it either, I've broken all the original body posts and replaced them with...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I suppose you could take off the stock hub adapter and fit hex adapters on there, that would solve the problem and allow you to run pretty much any wheel you wanted. I haven't tried this but it...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Are the rears are compatible with the LB rear hub or do you just remove the hub and use straight pins?

Looking forward to seeing a picture of this beast.<br type="_moz" />

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I don't use oil in my fifth shock at all, the purpose of that shock is as more of a brace anyway and it does the job for me.

I've been running a 2600KV motor in mine for a while and it's a lot of...
