RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Thom,

Someone will grab the next number and republish the list, or you can just read the thread backwards until you reach the most recent list and put the number in your signature, etc..

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Will someone take over keeping the list from MinnFlyer? Not me, I would never venture to step in those shoes.

RCKen,

Can you run this up the flagpole at GP??

This is the best idea and would be a great tribute! Put me on the waiting list for one!

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Anybody have instructions or a build thread showing how to install landing gear/retracts in a foam wing?

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

I am going to do it to a wing that I acquired on a partially completed US40 kit. I may have to replace the spars the blocks are mounted to, or at least double them up with a patch.

The wing is not...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

I made that same inquiry on this very thread and folks tend to give the opinion that the US planes are better suited as tail draggers. They do look a bit more slick as tail draggers but I bet both...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Yeah, Inoticedthe most recent OS FS designs are copying the look of the Saitos (one of the reasons I like them better) by putting two valve covers in place of that bottle cap looking thing on the...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Aww Mike, that's not fair! I have had one of the older, heavier Saito 65s and it was an anchor, but on the Sig Rascal 40 it is (was, I traded that plane)really a good engine. Ihave the Saito 56 on my...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

I would cover after finishing the assembly. It seems like the model would be more fuel proof that way. You can put little strips of material in the fillets where parts connect.

I don't have...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

I bought a 55AX/75AX engine combo last night for a little less than half of street price. The claim is they have both only had two tanks of run time, and by appearance that is accurate. So Iwill have...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Ken,

I hope Ihave not asked this before, but do you like the 61FX/US60 combo? That is the engine I have and Iam leaning towards for mine. It is so quiet!

The only reason Ihave been looking for...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Thanks for the advice guys. Good reminder about the prop clearance. Ithough about that some in passing, as Ihave a Saito 56 on my Tower Trainer 40 and even with trike gear I am always eating up...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Would it be nuts to put a 95AX on an US60?  I have been on the lookout for a 75AX, but the 95AX seems to come on the market more often.  I have had very good luck with acquiring good quality 2nd hand...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Mike,

With regardto your comment about preferring 2-strokes on your Ultrasports, I went and did a little reading on the glow forum to see the pros and cons of both, and it is like I remember from...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

This is certainly good info. I think it should be 90 then. I would be against the gear canting inward at all because of possible side loads if you come down with a wing a bit lower - thinking you...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Okay, Iam pulling the trigger on the GP US 60 kit today. I am also going to order air retracts and build it as a tail dragger.

Does anyone have input to a decision about 85 deg vs. 90 deg...

I can't be sure if you are not pulling my leg... I did find a Perry 4 stroke pump that is activated with the vibration of the engine. I guess Ican ask on Club Saito if anyone has ever...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Jimbo,

Thanks for the reply. I knew the nose whell would be super tight if it would fit, but Iguess I can live with a taildragger. Most folks at our field say taildraggers are not any tougher to...
