I've been flying mine for about 5-6 months now, all up weight is 23.8 lbs with a DA 50. I have a heavy 4200 mah (C cell) nimh up front and still had to add around 10 oz of nose weight.

7 1/8" should be good. My DA 50 is 6 7/8" and after fitting the cowling, I wish it were a little further out.

I've owned 3 Corsairs and they have all done this. Maybe the high spine(behind the cockpit) blanks the vertical stab.
