That is a lot of engine for this plane. Anyway, I have two of the VVRC 40 in other aircraft. I am running a 20x8 Xoar on both. It does very well with that prop. Incredible engine.

Eddie,

I understand what baffling does. Your quote says to slow down the airflow. I didn't say anything about swirling the air around in there either. You want the most continuous airflow going...

Does anyone have any opinion if the Saito FG-30b would be a good engine for this plane? Is the VVRC 40cc a little overkill for this plane? After seeing the VVRC setups, I think I might change my...

Alcuy-

How smooth does that 40 run? I was looking at one of these to put in a 1/3 Christen Eagle II and a 1/3 Pitts Special that I have.

Thanks for the info.

RE: New Hangar 9 1/4 Scale P 18 Super Cub

You would want a nice scale sound for this plane. I am putting in a Saito FG in mine. I wonder if the fg-21 will be enough. You would definitely have to add a bit of weight to get it to balance. It...

RE: New Hangar 9 1/4 Scale P 18 Super Cub

I built the E-flite version and you will be able to do the wing lights afterwards, but the rudder light might be a little tricky, but still could be done.

RE: New Hangar 9 1/4 Scale P 18 Super Cub

Now that we have some horizon guys here, I would like to ask what the smallest saito gasser that could work with this plane is? I know that the 30cc is recommended. Would the 21 work?

RE: New Hangar 9 1/4 Scale P 18 Super Cub

Yes, it is a four stroke. I already have the Saito fg-17 and fg-14b. They run smooth, sound great, and just sip the fuel. They are a bit expensive but I think they are worth it.
