RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

K223, the stock hubs on a 4.6 SE MGT are 14mm. Stock hubs on the MGT 8.0, are 23mm. But its not using an 8mm stub axle. Which leaves us looking for 17mm and 23mm conversions for our 6mm axle...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

K223, you tried the wrong wabash wheels, if they had no offset. Those would be the Revo wheels, that were designed to keep the same track width as stock. They do offer wabash wheels with the...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

K223, the FOC shaft shouldnt need to be longer. Its my understanding that the tranny case was beefed up internally. Not externally. Meaning its the same outside dimensions. I dont have my...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Get over it fellas, just let it go.

K223, i have no idea what AE is working on for the FOC. The fix is quite simple really. They need to bore out the hole for the pin, and they need to have...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Agreed, that .50 has some awesome power. As long as my truck is primarily a basher, it'll remain that way. Since AE is in no hurry to fix the FOC for this truck, i dont see it becoming a racer...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

I havent run mine all that much, but it appears to suck the fuel down quite well... Fueling this monster wont be easy on the wallett if thats what you're wondering. The savage has a much smaller...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Did you already post pictures of that engine damage? That would be interesting to see how, and what failed. It is pretty bad AE is slow on the parts. I would guess they rushed both the MMGT, and...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

On the MGT, i have 30k rear, grease up front. But i typically run 30 and 30 on my MT's.

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

This shouldnt take long at all honestly. 2 requirements to make this work

1- larger hole to accept that pin, in that shaft
2- shims need to be re-sized

1- should be real easy to tool up...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Yup, the shims that come with the current FOC will need to be shaved down to size to fit. Unless of course you wanted to remove ALL of the new tranny braces they installed. Which i wouldnt...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Well, i can tell ya on that FOC some of the things to keep in mind. Aside from that pin not fitting, you have to take in the fact that the transmission case itself is braced. At the front, and the...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Well, just give em a call, see what they say. I'd LOVE to see an FOC for this truck. I had mine on the track last Sunday, with just some mild setup changes, and some track tires. I liked how the...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Man, you guys missed the long write up i did on that? I included pics, and the many reasons that FOC does not work with it. Yes, i talked with the AE techs as well. They were shocked that the...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Rabbit, the sway bar people mention, is the same as your anti-sway bars. They serve the function of reducing chassis roll. Best suited to a hard packed, smooth track. On road as well.

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Rabbit, the main reason i went with 17mm is because of the tire and wheel selection. The new LPR wheels from proline, and other companies dont come in anything other than 17mm yet. So i kinda had...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

Snaut rocket, these were about 17 bucks. Ya, i'd say they are better than the maximizer ones. These are anodized black aluminum, and come with a metal washer for the outside. The maximizers have...

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

That FOC kit is the same part number, but it doesnt work with the new truck. Also, for anyone interested, heres the truck with 17mm hubs.

These pics have the M2C 17mm setup installed.

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

If its still starting, but slips occasionally, its the one way bearing. Clean it up, or replace it. You can remove it and inspect for damage to determine what ya need. Its an easy fix either way.

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM

K223, yes the FT shocks fit the MGT. Though you'll probably want to get the full set from AE. They have a new part number in the 8.0 manual. The shocks may even be updated, or different. The FT...
