On a brighter note, the Evolution Radial can actually fly ;)

It is a very well behaved engine and worked like a charm. 22x12 @ 5.800 (a little rich) and all went well.

I put the evo 7-77 on the teststand and let it run with 9% Oil, 5% Nitro.
Engine leaned out and then opened the needle 1/4 turn.

Hi,

the top Stearman is mine. I just made a hole into the Firewall right behind the carb so theres a lot more than the 15mm. I Think they are worried about airflow.

ok, short status my side. the 7-77 has 90 minutes of break in time and i de ided to give it the beans for the first time. high speed needle still 4 turns out so rather rich and prop is a 22x12...

J, the triple 7 looks very good on a 78" Stearman. I think the 9-99 would be great for a 97in plane as it is larger in diameter.

Yes, that is snow. It was 5° C on Saturday. Would be great if the engine started easier in warmth. My shoulder hurts a bit :P

ok guys, started breaking in my 7-77. I just love the sound. Not quite as growly as the FS400 at low rpm but it sounds more like a radial in the higher revs.

right... even with Kelvins good instructions, getting that Keleo on the 7-77 will give you at least three fits, 4-5 nervous breakdowns and some silent sobs in the corner of your workshop...
