RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

My experience with he Craptor put a real bad taste in my mouth.

I have been flying for 40 years and the F-22 was the biggest disappointment in any plane I ever built or bought.

It flew,...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

7 to 8lb airplane still won't work with a .46. Looks like another dud. 46" wing span, 38oz (2.4lbs) wing load per sq ft.

I'll keep my money...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

If I remember correctly you will need to angle the motor to a positive UP to get it to fly better.

You said 2 deg down. I had mine as far positive (up ) as I could get it.

You may wish to...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

Trust me, after several hard landings the rear landing gear will bend and you will then get the positive attitude your looking for.

Let us know what the 10 x 7 does....

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

Welcome to the Raptor pucker power:)

Yes, it does fly like a wounded duck and falls like a rock.

Your lucky you had lots of runway to get the speed up. If your on grass try putting larger...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

I had a elect servo reversing "Y" on mine. I wonder if that was the issue of my last flight.

After I removed the elect's from my crashed F22, I tried them on another set up and got some...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

The modifications you see have been posted on this thread for some time. I even went 1 more step and replaced the lite ply former with 1/4 ply and changed out the steering block with a heaver one.

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

I was not aware of a nose job from the factory.

If your experienced in flying and not a newbie (raptor was advertised as a trainer), then you can fly it. Even with the .42 (which I had) will...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

The Raptor was advertised with a .40 - .52 engine. There is no markings on the engine to tell you what you got on it.

The only way to really tell is to remove the head and measure the bore and...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

What really got it for me was after I did get it in the air it would not loop. It kept stalling out at the top of the loop and fall off.

The .46 that came with it is a great running engine but...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

So, you would rather trust a company that designed a plane and after going into production finding out that it really looks cool but dont fly worth a tinkers damm, but got to sell them anyway.

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

That's why I suggested the canopy hatch. You can mount it inside and protect it from bug strikes:)

The reason I have spare parts is because my Craptor was a pig in the air. I couldnt get a good...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

Are you nuts? Why would anyone want to add more weight to the thing.

I got one [8D]

How much you give me?

It's white and in new shape...

I also go the canopy in new condition...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

The Hanger 9 Craptor will fly again[&:]

After my last flight with the oversize and over weight F 22 raptor I broke the body in two. This was the last straw for this PIG in the air.

I tried...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

This is not my first time flying this thing.

APC 10 x 7 prop, Mac's tuned pipe, 15% nitro, engine at max RPM.

The problem I think was NO WIND to help the lift. Every other time I have flown...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

I have crashed my CRAPTOR for the last time. I was at my local hobby shop and was going to buy a .58 MDS 2 stroke to put into my underpowered CRAPTOR.

I told the guy that I was...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

It has always been my understanding that a nose heavy plane will take alot of air over the wings to get lift and rotate on the C/G for take off.

Now a tail heavy plane will rotate quicker on the...

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

The recommended C/G for the Raptor is 6". Now they state that 1/4 +/- is ok.

If you are trying to balance at 6.25 you are going to be on the nose heavy side even with the stock setup.. ....

RE: Hangar 9 F-22 Raptor PTS

I haven't padded mine either.

If the tank is loose in the area then I would add some foam to keep it in place.

Other than that, the challenge is to keep it in the air...
