RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

You aint a kidding! I came home one day to a box full of goodies from Vectorflight that had a note of appreciation inside. I never ordered it, they just sent it because they thought I might enjoy it....

I was going to tell a good story, but your story with the wasp is better than any I could have told. That is some funny story, but it is unfortunate that it did not have a happy ending.;) I...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

I see now. Its the bright orange one. That one ought to really show up well! Your Saito 120 should pull it around very well. There is also the Skyshark Edge 540 that they say balances perfectly with...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

That Goldberg Edge sure looks nice! Have you checked out the 25% Edge from Wild Hare? Its about $100 cheaper, and my buddy claims that his is an awesome flyer. I have seen it fly several times, and...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

The two main complaints that you would normally see come up about VF edges were generally just a couple cosmetic things like the wheel pants and the belly pan. The rest of the Plane generally has had...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

Sorry to hear that your Edge is no more! You shouldn't have any trouble finding a Plane to drop that ys 110 into. Just make sure it is suited for the ys 110. The ys 110 is actually more engine than...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

I have read some pretty good things about the Sky Shark edge that is close in size to the VF edge. The Sky Shark edge is around $100 more than what the VF Edges sold for though.

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

I always keep my eyes peeled to ebay or here in the RCU Marketplace for a NIB VF Edge to turn up, but no such luck as of yet! Lets just keep our fingers crossed that maybe they will return someday...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

I think that dash photo was actually one that somebody sent to VectorFlight many moons ago when the VF Edge had first been introduced. It was pictured on the VectorFlight Site for a very long time,...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

I know that Sturtz, myself, and many others on here have been talking about VectorFlight Edges pretty much since this thread began some 1500 post ago. So I think it is obvious that we really do enjoy...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

You can seal the gaps by using some low temp Monokote (Towerkote/Econokote), but DO NOT USE AN IRON! You can activate the adhesive on the back by using Monokote Trim Solvent if your Hobby Shop...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

The only reason I say beef up the firewall is that usually the engine of choice for this Plane has been a 91-100 4 stroke, and the occasional 120 4 stroke. I have not read where to many have used the...

That thing is going to be wicked with a ys 110!(BEEF THAT FIREWALL GOOD) I would definately put the 2 degrees to the right to help compensate for all that rotational torque you are going to have. I...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

The Plane does not sink. You chop throttle and it just goes right on by. Instead of bringing it in at 6 foot off the deck, and chopping throttle, the best way I have found is to come in at about 2...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

Very Good verticle, but I wouldn't say unlimited with a 15X6. Maybe with a 16X4, but I havn't tried it yet. It should be noted that I have only ran a couple gallons through the new Saito 100, and...

RE: Vectorflight Edge 540 build

I run the Saito 100 on my VF Edge spinning a 15X6 APC, and it is a great match in my opinion for this Plane. Its not overkill, but just right to get the job done!
