Seems to me it is safer to start where the plans say (Unless there is a Knowen Problem) and after the maiden start moving the CG in small steps ... Beter safe than sorry.

I believe if U would use a Grade 8 hardened bolt U would be in like flyn. U could also use the shank of a 6mm drill bit and loctite it with red loctite,

Your mounts might be installed differently ...Look at them extended with each half of the wing the same angle (with a magnetic protractor or a good level) then look if each gear leg looks like it id...
