RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

If you can get 8000 out of that motor you have a better one then the three that around here.
I would keep that baby for sure.

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Yes, I highly recommend you buy the Biela 17X10 white carbon fiber prop with red tips for that motor. I have tried the 18 inch prop also and it is too much for that motor.
I have found the OS 160...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Glad you got her back in one piece. Yes, you might want to go with the two blade next time, especially if the temps rise hotter as I found.
I haven't weight mine for awhile but I remember it is...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

It has been awhile since I have posted on this thread but thought I might tell you that a Xoar 17-8 will have a better pull then that 3-blade on that OS160 twin. I know as I have the white Xoar 3&2...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Yes I agree with the gasser sound. Only a twin in this bird is nice.
Sorry to hear that this bird is no longer sold....that is the reason years ago when I bought my first one I soon ordered another...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

George
My axel is about 1/32 narrower than the fork on my Sierra. I have three of these same gears and they are the best.
Here is a picture of my Sierra nose strut. Yes, it is close to the wheel....

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Hi Guys,
This just my opinion on nose gears.
And I understand why Anderhav is going with a Robart because of where he lives.
I have seen both Sierra and Robart nose gears on this C-182 and I...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Yakflyer,
I have't gotten time to try your half flap takeoffs yet with my C-182. Been too busy flying other aircraft.
But for your information what you are using for a landing flap (1 to 1.5") is...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

OK Yakflyer (yes I have a 50cc yak also) :)
I have a confession to make.
I have about 30 or 40 flights on my C-182 and have never taken off with half flaps. Only used them on most landings.

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

To Yakflyer,
IF you are flying at cruise power and drop full flaps she is about going to do a loop...just like the real C-182. :) Flaps are too be used at a reduced flying speed.
I drop half...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

OK guys I went down to my work shop and got to thinking about my last post about that Blue paint.
It is NOT going to mach the trim on this Hanger 9 182 as it has some brand of vinyl that I haven't...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Thanks Volker for the great idea for a muffler. I copied it off. She will sound real pretty.:)
Here is a thought: Next to the the bottom of that C-182 cowl is a air intake. I rolled up a piece of...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Glad to see this thread still alive on the C-182.
Of all my airplanes this C-182 is my favorite.
I didn't think Hanger 9 sold these kits anymore.

For myself the OS 160 twin is great. Will do...
