RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

You should have been a carpenter chris7. You just hit the nail on the head.

I build trucks for all kinds of drivers and the number of people that think they can buy race results is...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

You will want to leave the guards on and grind them or get the SUT guards. Your pipe will thank you. As for body mounts, you can take a piece of aluminum angle (available at the local home stores)...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

Regards the Jammin stuff. Several guys around here got the buggy when it first hit and they all got rid of them rather quickly. In fairness most said it was the total lack of spares availability...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

If you want to all the way out to the back forty of crazy, pick up a couple of Crono RS Race engines. It's a .21 11 port with a turbo button and out of the box it's one of the fastest engines I've...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

First of all, you should actually see a bit less overall RPM from a twin engine. Max RPM will be whatever the slowest spinning of the two is doing and this will cause them to work against each other...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

Airtronics 94358 is my personal favorite for steering in buggy and MT. I use the same for throttle/brake so I only need to carry one spare.

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

I've never had any luck with synthisized gear in 8th buggy or MT. It seems to work fine in 10th electric, but every time i've run it in a buggy or monster truck it lasts a short while and gets...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

Not only did the plastic arms go the distance last weekend, Danny called me today to give me the lowdown on last weekend and in the course of our conversation he mentioned that the arms on his truck...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

I'm the one that should be saying sorry. I thought you wanted an actual truggy, not a cobbled up poser POS that just looked like one.

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

There is already one available. It's called the Lighting Stadium and is available in either a pro or RR version.
While I'm sure you could convert your buggy, given the cronic short supply of LS...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, MUGEN,Conversions.pix/Video

The reason for the narrowed tires was the abundance of traction. They didn't need as much tire to be hooked up, and the smaller the contact patch the faster your truck will be. Of course on low...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

RCP has alrady addressed this issue by doing away with unlimited MT for the 2006 season. They decided that since so many companies were following the pan chassis route, and due to the huge...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

It's good to see Danny having some better luck for a change. He's been close for a while with the new truck, but something alsways seems to happen at the last minute to kill his chances.

I have...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

Thanks for the vid. That's my good friend Danny Beers from Pro Hobby Racing in the yellow shirt. He's one heck of an MT jock and has recently moved from production MT to a hot bodies truck.

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

Well folks, RCP has gone and done it. They no longer have 2 MT classes. it's now production MT and 1/8 scale arena truck which will be the former unlimited MT class with a few rule changes. At...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

The tank has been cc'd and is only 130cc. Don't know why ofna keeps claiming it's 145.

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

Having fun is what it's all about on this end of the equation, but all you folks making fun of the other end don't have a clue how much skull sweat goes into making these "toys" such great fun. ...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

Since we made the truggy concept actually work for racing 3 years ago, it has been nothing but change for the pan chassis MT and it's nowhere near done. With the adoption of a standardized set of...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

A short truck with long arms or wheel extenders is wider than it is long and in order for it to turn tight the inner rear wheel would actually have to turn backward which can't happen under power or...

RE: Official ALL TRUGGY THREAD.. Hotbodies, GS, Conversions..etc...

I've known about native for several years, but simply adding width to a buggy chassis, no matter if it's long arms or hub extenders is a waste of time without the extra length. The longer arms are...
