RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I LOVE my x440/3. So far it is the best prop I've tried on the boat, and I've tried several. It does cavitate for a few feet, but nothing like the stock prop.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Hey, guys, just a couple ideas I brain stormed up over the weekend or things I already do that I thought would be useful.

As for the antenna, i've got a bracket mounted on the transom like one...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

trunky, what club or group do you run with? i live in the dallas area as well, and run with Dallas RC Thunderboats. This weekend several of us are going down to the Texas Super Race in New Braunsfel

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I have done both successfully without having disable the BEC. Just watch your temps, if they are getting too hot, then reconsider, but I've never personally had a problem.

In fact, I recently...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

chriz, i found a garmin geko 101 on amazon.com, refurbished from the factory for $50 with shipping. you might check on amazon, as they seemed to have pretty good deals on stuff.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

to clarify about my question, i was asking if the x645 would be too much prop if i had a barracuda 80 ESC. I did a short run with it yesterday on the stock ESC, and the motor and ESC were cool...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

ok guys, got some new toys to mess around with. got my hands on a water-cooled barracuda 80 ESC, and a x645 octura prop. (got the x645 to mess around with in the blackjack, but who knows). do you...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

i don't know if i would prop down on lipos for speed only runs unless it were really windy or way choppy. the more the boat gets aired out the better, which is the point of speed runs anyways,...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

with that ammo, i think it would be no problem to prop up to a octura x440/3. i use that, and with 14 cells and the stock ESC, have never had a problem.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

SVDayton, yes i am running the stock ESC. I know some people have said that it is a bad idea to run 14 cells, but I've never really had any problems. I'm sure it helped that the water was pretty...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Went out to the pond today, and got 45.1mph on the GPS. I'd post some pictures, but I can't get the camera to focus enough to make the numbers clear. Set up was a ammo2300 motor, 440/3 octura, and...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

for water tubing, i would go to the pet store (or even better fish store) and buy silicone aquarium airline tubing. It has a much larger inner diameter. Regarding hatch tape, a lot of people like...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I use the Geko 101 and while I am not happy with the speeds I am getting, I am completely certain that the unit itself is very accurate.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

A couple of weekends ago I was pretty psyched to finally get a GPS. It is a Garmin Geko 101, and the first weekend I took it out, the top speed i got with some IB4200's and a CF48 was 36.2mph. The...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

i just have a hard time believing that the impact from an out of water back to the water flip or jump or whatever could cause that. At least at the speeds most of these things run. My boat has...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

what is in the water that you are hitting at don't know about? i would be seriously surprised if your rudder were flexing far enough to touch the propeller.
