Using the polycrylic without the cloth does give a smoother and harder surface, but doesnt give the added stiffness that covering or poly and cloth give.

Here are a few ways I"ve made my GWS planes perty.

1. Iron on covering after sanding and spaclking the foam. (Nice finish and incredible strength, but too much work)
2. Polycrylic brushed on...
