For what it's worth, mine weighed 7153 g (15.77 lbs) out of the box, including the ESM retracts and wheels. My electric all up flying weight, including flight batteries is about 10.5 kg (23.1 lbs).

I made a embarrassingly bad mistake on the second flight when I had to land in gusty crosswind. Still, the Tigercat behaved like a trainer and didn't stall despite my ridiculous stick input when I...

Heavy engines make for a heavy plane on landing, no matter how much extra power you have during loops. Mine has 1,34 hp per side of input power, which is fine. I mounted the servos under the wing...

Mine takes off on its own after 15 m/50' and lands slowly on the first half of our <300' field with ditches around it. Your mileage may vary. Mine's 10,5 kg and the built up wing.

I made the last piece from aluminum as it also broke, later, on the third flight. I keep messing up the landings.

Some shots of mine taken after the maiden. I changed the angle of the nose leg as it had way too much forward rake in the stock setup. It was also too short to be scale.

RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat

Ok. I didn't watch the video. I'm on a very slow internet connection and didn't want to wait for it to buffer. :) I'll watch it now.

Thanks. What is included in the gear door set? Are actuator cylinders included? If so then it's great value.

RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat

Cool! I have not decided on a setup yet, but like you I plan on using light servos. I will buy some TGY AerodriveXp 42 SK Series 42-50 650Kv / 1150w to see if they can stand up to 1000 W. If they are...

RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat

It's no 3D plane, but it won't fly very scale either at this weight. The wing area is about the same as a 70" Spitfire but the weight is 50% higher. I'll try to eliminate some weight here and there....

RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat

crhammond,

KMP is a distributor and part developer of some of the planes. They are manufactured by ESM. ESM doesn't sell directly to consumers as far as I know. I think http://www.vqwarbirds.com/...

RE: KMP F-7F Tigercat

That's quite impressive if the plane is constructed with a sandwitch composite construction.
