They have a tendancy to shatter, & if you get them too hot they'll lose their magnetism, but if your drill bit gets hot it will gain some magnetism! I can't remember who sells the ones with holes in...

You can buy them with countersunk holes in them & you bolt them on. The ones without holes are more difficult to mount & keep mounted.

use an L-shaped fitting on the top & bottom of that clear line so that any sloshing in the tank won't spill fuel and any water in the hull can't get in the tank. If you can keep it a closed system...

I have seen carbon fiber engine rails on an AC lazer, they work well. They were only a couple of mm thick too.

I've had this on gearboxes for buggies, it is usually 1 of 3 things,

a bent axle or unseated bearing the gear rotates on, or

less likely - in proper moulded gear (hole drilled off center)....
