RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

He's probably under a down comforter with all his clothes on with the electric blanket on full. It's cold in Manitoba now!
I hope he does not run out of wood or propane and toss the plane in the...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

Is your prop tip to ground clearance the same with skis fitted as with wheels? In earlier pictures of your mockup or prototype skis, the prop looked rather close to the surface. With the front you...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

That is a great rx mounting, but it worries me some in the way it can transfer engine vibrations to the circuit board via the solid contact of that former and the servo connector shells.

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

You can join two or more sheets of balsa edge to edge with normal wood glue (elmers, tite-bond etc..) as so long as it is long grain to long grain. Glue won't stick well to end grain but it will...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

Dave,
I hope the operation went well and you are not in pain! I hate being put under..

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

Hey don't knock all the cox engines, those super-cheap 'sure start' engines work better than any other sub-seven dollar engine I've tried! They really do start well anyway..

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

The excuse (reason?) the micro four channel rx now have only four ports and no separate pair of pins for a battery is because most of the market for those radios if for electric powered planes, and...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

... Epoxy is best, not only because of the hammering, but it's more resistant to nitromethane than cyano ( I think anyway ) and the little engines use a higher concentration, so the 1/2 firewall may...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

D Bronk- on the se5 thread I could tell that the norvel you bought is the .074. Great choice, - good way to make the kid's Dad have some competition on his hands when pushing the electric power...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

Would you consider leaving the d-tube plan up as an older revision or the like, for us D-tube fans?
I know it's probably silly, but I like the way d-tube wings look when covered compared to the...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

That's a good idea, plus I think Lynn would have liked your little .02 sized bipe you just made, maybe since it has a cute look like the LS 150..
Sipes of rhymes with bipe too.. for what that's...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

It just keeps getting better..
another cool thing since the plans are electronic might be a 'scale factor' or something where one could scale the plane to match the popular engines sizes-- but that...

RE: 1/2A trainer anyone?

The little Kadetlet looks good- I also like the shape of the tail on the kadet mk11, but that may be harder to make..
