RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I just back off the throttle as I enter a corner, that gets a bit of a slide, or some full on oversteer happening depending on how hard you back off, and then get back on the throttle again at the...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I run 40WT silicone oil front and rear, HARD REAR springs on the FRONT (yes!), and SUPER HARD REAR on the BACK, with pre-tensioners as well, as many as you like.

This makes the truck much less...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Looks like it!

They stay done up tight, it's great not checking your wheels after a day's bashing and finding that they were barely secure!

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

PS, I have Tamiya lock nuts on my wheels now. A million times better than the HPI ones. How hard can it be to make a locking nut that doesn't undo???

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Shawalka, if you can't justify the cost of CVDs at this point in time, I'd suggest doing something like spray painting your dogbones the brightest, least natural day-glo colour you can find. That...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Hey all, long time (kinda) no post!

My truck was going great, I tuned it a bit on the weekend, leaned it out a touch on low speed and a bit on high speed, man what a difference! The thing spins...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Well, my diff cups have a bit of play in them too, but when I shimmed my front diff, it was too tight. I took this to mean that my diff gears were already changed, and didn't check my rear diff. ...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

The main things on my list are the New Era 125cc fuel tank (the 75cc just doesn't last quite long enough for my liking, though I am running it pretty rich at the moment) and probably a hump pack. I...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Personally, I'd investigate the header a bit more. Do you mean it still appears to be leaking since you tightened it up after hitting the stop sign? If you do mean that, then maybe the exhaust...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Totally normal, mine's the same.

Keep in mind also that the car comes with two sets of rear knuckles - one is 1 degree (I'm not sure of what though, whether it's camber or toe, they don't...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Dude, you need to do more research and be more careful about what you post. The aluminium shocks you have linked to are for the original MT, not the MT2. The MT2 shock absorbers are longer on the...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I think it's supposed to, it has in the description that it comes with the required machined adapter plate - that little linkage sure doesn't look like what I'd call an adapter plate, but maybe it's...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Thanks, but as I said, I found the link. :)

You need to search for "fuel tank 125cc", and a bunch of links come up. One of the part numbers has MT in it, that's the one. :) Tell me, did your...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I found the 125cc fuel tank I wanted the link for, so disregard that question.

But now I have another one - can anyone give me a run down on a specific exhaust they have used and how it has...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Guys, can someone link me once more to the New Era 125cc fuel tank that someone in this thread bought? I've tried to search back through the thread but haven't had any luck finding the link.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

The nylon plastic the components are made of, when boiled for 10 minutes, will become softer and more pliable. This makes it more likely to take big knocks without snapping/tearing as it can better...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Sure, why not? It's maybe a couple of hours' work at most (as you'll be learning as you go), and it could ensure that you don't have problems that require you to wait for the parts later. I checked...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

The 18SS may work best with a different plug to the t-15. The motor itself would come with one, I imagine? Buy more of whatever it comes with, I guess.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

MAKE SURE you thread lock the screws holding the engine in, and it should be fine. Mine got chewed out, but only because I forgot to thread lock, and lost two screws, allowing the motor to talk away...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Probably heaps of hassle with no real usable improvement in performance... I mean, really, how often are these things at idle or just off idle? Usually they're a fair way open, or full throttle...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Grantothismo, what % fuel are you running? I'm just looking at the OS #8 plug, and Tower list it as Medium Hot... I realised that perhaps you are running a lower % fuel? I run 25%, so don't want...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Ahh, cool. So do you notice any real diff in performance or running with the OS #8 instead of the HPI R5 or whatever is stock? No detonation or anything like that?

Thanks for the tip on the...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

It's funny you should mention that. One bit I left out of my story was that after a decent (6 ft air or so) jump, the car landed beautifully as I squeezed on the throttle, and suddenly went full...
