RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

First, I have never gotten water to come up along the drive line on my SV or any other boat I own. I always use LOTS of grease and re-grease after no more than 3 runs.

Second, that little piece...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

220?? Wow. I use a green Scotch-Brite scouring pad. Works perfectly.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Make sure your balance point is at least 8 inches forward of the transom. The stock battery location makes the boat way tail heavy and very prone to blow overs.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Best I have seen stated is it is "around" 1800 Kv.

No idea of the max rpm. At 14.8 volts nominal you''ll get an unloaded rpm of 26,640 or so.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I agree. Honestly, for anything other than seeing how fast you can go before it blows over the SV is not running well at all above 40 or so.

I assume most of the people looking for absolute...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Prop choice is also dependant upon your objective. Are you oval racing? What are the water conditions? Are you doing SAWS for records or just straight lines back and forth? And then the way the boat...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I agree, the 440/3 rocks. And if you throttle up a bit slower the cavitation is held to a minimum.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Move the batteries forward until it balances at about 8.9 inches forward of the transom (back end of the boat). The stock battery position makes the boat too tail heavy and prone to taking off and...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

That's interesting. Garmin says that the 201 uses lithium cells and is rechargeable. The 101 uses the alkaline "AAA" cells. Perhaps you have a non-standard unit.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I keep seeing people say that the SV will not turn left or does so badly. I must have a bad one. Mine turns just fine to the left. Say about 80% of the authority of the right due to the rudder riding...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I use a Futaba FASST system in all of my boats. Currently that is an SV27, a sport hydro (H&M Viper), and a 32" DF hull called a CyberStorm. Not one single problem.

I will be putting the FASST...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Not my boat!!! And yes, the can blew right off the motor and left the insides behind. Impressive, No??

Upshot is that I think it is possible to bend a motor mount in a collision.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What he said.

It really amazes me how people want to go faster and faster but don't take the time to understand the how and why of it. Just more battery, more motor. We have a guy at my lake...
