RE: Carl Goldberg PITTS S12 MONSTER

Congratulations on your maiden!

It's been a bit windy here in Rhode Island this season, 15 to 25 is common. Seems to blow most during the weekends when I can fly. If I want to sail there is no...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

That's a shame, Goldberg had some nice planes.

Speedy, you can still get the GP Super Stearman. It is roughly the same size and just as graceful in the air. Totally aerobatic, especially with...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Speedy, I picked mine up at my local hobby shop but try Goldberg directly @ www.carlgoldbuergprouducts.com I'm hoping that replacement parts are available as well as the whole plane. Also try...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

The landing gear repair was a success, unfortunately the pictures did not come out well at all.

Basically, I put all the bitts and pieces and the gear mounting block back together and covered...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I saw a wheel hit a lump of earth than drop in a hole just before the gear came off. I figure that it was a foot print made by someone when the runway was wet. It probably froze, heaved and enlarged...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Yesterday was supposed to be 10 to 15 mph winds but it was more like 20 to 25. It was not steady or constant, and of course, the direction was never straight down the runway. I was not going to...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

The radial dummy is for a Great Planes Super Stearman. I ordered this from Tower Hobby about 2 years ago. They're still selling the Stearman so I figure there still selling the replacement parts....

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Here is my finished Pitts.

The plastic cone and wheel pants are on for show and will not be used.
If the weather is acceptable I'll get it up tomorrow.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Friday and Saturday were good days to stay in. We had some snow and when that happens in Rhode Island it is best to stay off the roads. Worst drivers in the country.

I did get some time to play...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Glad to not have offended.

I hear you as far as getting the servos to be exactly on 90 deg. It is a bear at times. If it comes to it I'm totally willing to go with the matchbox and 4 servo...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Thanks for the info.

There were set up issues with the GP Super Stearman's push rods and getting the proper geometry correct. I don't want to turn the ailerons into Swiss cheese before getting...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Hey Stu Mitnik,

I'm interested to hear how your Pitts works with bottom wing aileron servos and push rods. My GP Stearman is set up this way and it works fine. I'm hopping the Pitts will do the...
